From Pam Stephan, your Guide to Breast Cancer
I feel very sad about the senseless shooting of schoolchildren and teachers in Newtown, CT. Unexpected loss, particularly when caused by violence is numbing. Grief on holidays is even harder to deal with. Condolences to the families of Sandy Hook Elementary, may you receive comfort that brings eventual healing.

When Grief Comes Home for the Holidays
A friend of ours recently got a diagnosis of Stage 4 recurrence. Her time is short, and she's making decisions. I wrote her, to let her know how she made my life better. If you love someone, tell them now - don't wait. If you're grieving, give yourself time, and stick with supportive people.

Holidays, Stress, and Breast Cancer

Plan carefully, set some priorities, and take the holidays easy this year. Here's some tips to cope with holiday stress.

Does Stress Increase Breast Cancer Risk?
We have my sister and her family coming for the holidays! I am housecleaning, meal planning, shopping, gift wrapping, and stressing. This is all on top of being a full-time caregiver for my 87-year old father, and keeping up with my writing and research. I would rather de-stress than have dis-stress, but that'll have to wait until after New Years!
