From Pam Stephan, your Guide to Breast Cancer
I'm convinced that women are great at multi-tasking. We keep everybody around us on schedule, make sure meals are on time, and rooms get cleaned up. Often, we take care of others and neglect our own needs. Well, if you're in treatment or recovery, those priorities need to change!

Top 10 Self Care Tips During Breast Cancer Treatment
Don't let yourself be defined by breast cancer -- once you become a patient, it can be easy to get caught up in treatment and emotions. But you are a survivor -- so take good care of all aspects of your health, gather your posse, and head into a healthier future. Here are some tips to help you with self-care.

7 Essentials to Pack for Summer Travel During Treatment
Summer holds great opportunities to spend time with family and friends. If you're in treatment for breast cancer, you can still travel - you just need to pack a little more carefully. Discuss your plans with your doctor and then get out your suitcase. Here's a list of things to pack in addition to your camera, credit cards, clothes, and medications.

10 Ways to Cut Yourself Some Slack
You need a break -- no, make that several breaks! Sometimes you just have to give yourself permission to take special care of yourself. Here are some suggestions, several of which came out of my breast cancer support group.

Safe and Creative Emotional Outlets
Here are seven safe, creative ways to express the emotions that come with breast cancer. Each has physical and psychological benefits. While none of these will cure cancer, they do help you feel better and give you some emotional relief.

About Breast Cancer: Discrimination Against Breast Cancer Survivors

If you can't see this email, click here

About.com

Breast Cancer

Symptoms / Diagnosis

Treatment

Daily Life

From Pam Stephan, your Guide to Breast Cancer
There are a lot of misconceptions about breast cancer and how the disease and treatments affect survivors. Sometimes, despite all our efforts to educate and raise awareness, ignorance and fear results in discrimination.

Discrimination Against Breast Cancer Survivors
Recently, metastatic breast cancer patients have been having a hard time - but not just with disease or treatment. Patients and survivors have been kicked off airplanes, denied a lease, lost custody of their children. We have rights - no matter what our diagnosis may be.

Have you ever been discriminated against because of breast cancer? Please leave a comment.

Know Your Needles - Some Butterflies Bite!
Butterflies come in pretty colors, but when they carry a needle, you might not think they are so attractive. If you've ever had blood drawn or an IV placed in a vein before surgery, you've met these butterflies. Now learn to cope with their bite.

Understanding Your CBC
When you're in treatment, you get stuck with needles all the time. You may start to think of your blood nurses as vampires - but they really aren't! Your blood sample gets tested carefully, and the results are important for your health.

Summer and Breast Cancer - Get Ready
School year is coming to a close and many families are planning vacations. You don't have to sit on the sidelines, if you're in treatment, but you do have to prepare yourself. Pack carefully and go have a good, healthy time!
