Celebrate Lymphedema Awareness Day Today

The National Lymphedema Network's founder, Saskia RJ Thiadens, established Lymphedema Awareness Day to elevate understanding of lymphedema and to honor the resilience of those who live with lymphatic diseases. March 6 was chosen because it marks the date the NLN was incorporated - the first nonprofit organization in the US dedicated solely to lymphedema.

On March 6, we come together to uplift the lymphedema community, recognize the strength of those navigating these conditions, and honor the healthcare professionals advancing care, innovation, and access in lymphatic wellness.

Raise your voice. Share a story. Spark change.

Lymphedema Awareness Continues All March Long

Lymphedema is a chronic condition caused by damage or disruption to the lymphatic system, leading to swelling often in the arms, legs, or other areas of the body. While there is no cure, early diagnosis, ongoing education, and the right support can make a life-changing difference.

Awareness helps people get diagnosed sooner, access care faster, and feel less alone.
