As the end of 2024 quickly approaches, we at the NLN want to take a moment to reflect on the amazing year this has been. First, I would like to express my humble gratitude to the Board of Directors for placing their trust in me as I assumed the position of Executive Director at the beginning of this year. I am deeply thankful for the close working relationship with the Board as we move forward with many new and exciting initiatives. Of course, the best laid plans will amount to nothing without a capable and dedicated staff, and the staff of the NLN is second to none. Finally, to all of the loyal members and sponsors, without you there wouldn't be an organization, so we are profoundly grateful for all your involvement and contributions.
So bottom line – was it a successful year? One of the ways to answer that is to quote a comment I overheard at the conference in Kansas City this year; "I can't wait to use what I learned here – this is going to really help with several of my patients". All other metrics aside, that has to count as success – to know that the quality of patient outcomes will improve. Yes, membership numbers are up, there are more networking and professional growth opportunities, and of course an exciting conference schedule. But to know that the NLN is making a difference in the lives of patients is a very good metric of success.
On behalf of the Board and Staff of the NLN, may you and yours have a most happy and joy filled holiday season.
Daniel Karadsheh
Executive Director
