His doctoral thesis addressing the lymphatic system, its historical evolution and the manual lymphatic drainage technique was awarded a Medal of the Medical Faculty of Paris, VI. He extensively studied osteopathic techniques and other hands-on modalities. He is a registered osteopath in France. Dr. Chikly is the director of the Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) and Brain Therapy curriculi, member of the International Society of Lymphology (I.S.L.), Associate Member of The American Academy of Osteopathy (A.A.O.), the Cranial Academy and is the recipient of the 2014 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. He has spoken to numerous North American medical and health related groups, and many lymphedema support groups. LDT and Brain Therapy workshops have been taught in many countries. He is an international seminar leader, writer and lecturer.
