Stage 3 breast cancer is a complex, invasive cancer diagnosis. All the subdivisions of this stage can be confusing. Bottom line: 5-year survival rates are pretty good, but treatments can be tough.

Fighting Stage 3 Breast Cancer
Let me start with two women who have beat Stage 3 past the 5-year mark. They took the full battery of treatments, then went on to recover and start life over. Fighting Stage 3 can be hard on you, but it is survivable.

Kadcyla Wins FDA Approval For HER2 Breast Cancer
A new drug will soon be available to treat HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Made by Genentech, it will be known as Kadcyla (ado-trastuzumab emtansine). This drug is a highly targeted therapy, meant to affect only the cancer cells.

Diagnosis Details Matter
I've still got every lab report and test result and even some x-rays from my time in treatment. They are organized into notebooks for easy reference. It's good to understand your diagnosis, and even better to have it in writing - especially if you want a second opinion.
