From Pam Stephan, your Guide to Breast Cancer
Politics seems to be all about money, but it should be about people. And curing cancer should be all about people, but it takes lots of money. So what should you do? Vote in your national elections, and donate carefully. Make your dollars count and your voice heard.

Do Your Homework, Go Out and Vote
Those of us who live in America are about to have a national election. We go through this process every four years and somehow we survive it! A big part of participating in our democracy is voting - I've cast my ballot - and I urge you to do the same. It's a tight race and many issues may affect you.

Spend Your Pink Dollars Carefully
We can "Shop For The Cause" - but does that really help fund the cure? Some of your purchases result in more benefits than others. Learn how to follow the money and be sure your money goes to support the cure. Not all that's green turns into pink benefits for patients.

Be Wary of Cancer Scams, Think Before You Give
Breast cancer frauds are all about money and attention. A cancer faker may be male or female, but they may still claim to have a life-threatening, debilitating breast tumor. Here are some ways to avoid a cancer fraud, and ways to deal with one, if you spot one. We need to avoid cancer con artists because our donations should always go to the genuine patients.

5 Top-Rated Pink Ribbon Charities
This year, if you want to make a financial gift to help support breast cancer research, provide mammograms for needy women, or raise awareness through educational efforts, make the most of your tax-deductible checks by giving to some of these national non-profit organizations that spend more on support that they spend on themselves!

From Pam Stephan, your Guide to Breast Cancer
It takes a team to survive treatment for breast cancer. There are times when we need each other to smooth the road, to make it through the day, and to sort out our challenges. A good caregiver and supporter makes a positive difference!

A Cancer Caregiver Tells His Story
Cindy Harris has beat cancer twice - two different types of cancer - and she had an excellent caregiver to carry her through. He wasn't trained or certified or even experienced at caring for cancer patients, but he proved to be a very fast learner. Rob Harris, her husband, wrote their story in his book, "We're In This Together."

Supporting a Partner with Breast Cancer
Breast cancer affects not only the patient but everyone in her immediate circle of family and friends -- especially her partner. A partner's support is irreplaceable during the challenges of such a devastating diagnosis. Here are some practical tips.

Volunteering to Fight Breast Cancer All Year Long
If you're not a hands-on caregiver, there are still many ways to help. Look around for volunteer opportunities - these go on all year - and make a difference to many lives!

When Friends Don't Show Up
It's a strange fact, but sometimes people just don't know how to help you get through cancer treatments, or they are afraid. Some folks have a prejudice against cancer and may blame the patient for their predicament. You may have to reach out to bring them back into your life, or you may have to move on. Here's some ideas and explanations.
